2006 Excellence in Education Gala - "Sentimental Journey"

Thanks
to everyone who attended our 2006
Excellence in Education Gala, and helped us raise just over
$35,000 for Innovative
Education Grants! This year, we were extremely proud
to honor Sandi Pantages as our "Excellence in Education"
Community Honoree, and Cheryl Cook-Kallio as our "Excellence
in Education" FUSD Honoree. Our theme for this year's Gala,
in keeping with Fremont's 50th Anniversary, was "Sentimental Journey."
Sandi has been on the Board of the Fremont Education Foundation for
the past thirteen years, helping us expand opportunities for
Fremont's students. She has also contributed greatly to our
community and our children through her 32 years with the Alameda
County Library, her role in creating the Alameda County Library
Foundation, her many years with the local League of Women Voters,
Fremont Symphony Guild, Niles Rotary, Fremont Police Chief's
Citizens Advisory Committee, and the City's Downtown Advisory
Committee.
