Community Honoree

Founded in 1969, the Candle Lighters is a non-profit organization of nearly 100 volunteers dedicated to raising funds for non-profit groups and community-based projects in Fremont, Newark, and Union City. The Candle Lighters are known for hosting the Ghost House every October, which raises funds for a number of local non-profits and is a vital source of funds for those organizations.
FUSD Honoree

The FUSD Student Support Services department is tasked with providing an array of services to students and families within the FUSD. They welcome and register new students from our community and from around the world. This team was instrumental in providing critical services to many students and their families who were facing considerable hardships during the Covid crisis.
